Carpet Care Tips
Have
You Noticed A Dark Area Along Your Baseboards? or under closet doors? Using your
vacuum's edge tool around your baseboards once a month will help prevent this condition, called
'air infiltration'. Air Infiltration is caused by air moving from place to place in your house while the heater or air conditioner
is running. Your carpet is actually filtering the dirt out of the air. You can either have your air ducts sealed, which prevents
the dirt from entering your HVAC system or electrostatic filters can also be cheaply purchased and installed to help capture
this material before it's deposited.
Watch Out For Spot Cleaners being sold on the market! Besides getting little
to no results some of these products have been known to irreversibly Bleach
your Carpet. Spot cleaning your carpet is best accomplished by using a 50/50 solution of white vinegar/water - in the
absence of Citrusolution Spotter. There are some exceptions: use COLD water on blood spots, and nail polish remover on nail
polish spots. Use White Wine on Red Wine spills. Kool-Aid spots, medicine spills, and other food dyes must be blotted from
the carpet and rinsed as much as possible. Many spots can be removed with the proper and timely treatment. Call us for advice
before attempting to clean the area. 1 1 1
